DEFINITION

What is SAF?

SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) is a renewable jet fuel made from waste oils, residues, or synthesised from green hydrogen and CO₂. Blended up to 50% with fossil kerosene, it cuts lifecycle emissions by up to ~80%.

TECHNOLOGIES

The different SAF technologies

Compare and choose the SAF that fits best

POWER TO LIQUID01 / 04

SAF PTL

Converts renewable electricity into synfuel through electrolysis, then combines it with CO₂ to create synthetic fuels for aviation.

E-FUELS02 / 04

e-SAF

Produced from renewable energy to make hydrogen, then synthesized with CO₂. Usable directly in existing engines.

OILS & FATTY ACIDS03 / 04

SAF HEFA-SPK

Produced by hydrotreating fats and oils into synthetic kerosene. Blendable with conventional kerosene.

FISCHER-TROPSCH04 / 04

SAF FT-SPK

Produced via Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, converting biomass or other carbon sources into high-quality synthetic hydrocarbons.
