This year, Slush took us to Helsinki — a city where innovation, determination, and the spirit of sustainability come together in a distinctly Nordic way. Representing Heeding Climate Solutions, our CEO & Founder, Cédric Y. Choel, spent the week immersed in conversations that will shape the next chapter of industrial decarbonization.
What we found in Finland was more than a conference. It was a powerful reminder of why we are building Heeding — and what it will take to accelerate the global energy transition.
From the first day, Slush revealed its unique strength: bringing together people truly committed to solving complex global challenges. For us, it was an opportunity to build new bridges between the Southern European market and the Nordic sustainable energy ecosystem — and the conversations that followed were invaluable.
We met with leaders like Neste, Vantaan Energia Oy, Fortum, and Liquid Sun Ltd, who are redefining sustainable fuel production and renewable energy. International innovators such as Moeve (formerly Cepsa) and Octopus Energy added a global perspective to these exchanges.
A particularly important moment was our conversation with A.P. Moller – Maersk. Their determination to decarbonize global logistics is ambitious and urgent — exactly the kind of momentum our platform is designed to support. Their real-world demand confirmed something essential: the market is ready to accelerate.
Slush also marked our first deep interactions with VCs and Family Offices in the Nordics specifically focused on climate and sustainable energy. These investors bring something rare: an understanding of the long timelines and infrastructure realities that define climate technology.
The message was clear:
Transformative climate impact requires more than technological breakthroughs — it requires aligned, patient capital and a long-term vision.
This is exactly the kind of partnership we seek as Heeding continues to grow.
Among all the insights we brought back, one cultural discovery stood out: Sisu.
Sisu is a Finnish concept of extraordinary determination — the quiet resilience to push forward in the face of challenges. It is steady, focused, and deeply rooted.
For a startup working to implement real decarbonization across heavy industries, Sisu felt like the perfect metaphor.
The energy transition requires persistence, courage, and unwavering commitment.
In short: it requires Sisu.
At Heeding Climate Solutions, we are developing a sovereign digital platform that connects producers, partners, and industrial users of low-carbon fuels. Using AI to identify synergies and end-to-end fuel traceability to ensure trust, we aim to make sustainable fuels:
